Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

i'm thinking about canceling my oct.25th ordered i5 and order a new one now. You guys think i gonna get it earlier this way?
Anybody already done that?

It would be risky at this point, kheops. The Apple Online Store now shows "5-7 business days" shipping as I mentioned. There are 6 business days left in November (because of the Japanese national holiday next Monday only 5 for me). If your 10/25 order showed "Ships in November" you're better off waiting at this point.

7 Business days would put you into December. 😡

Man, you're still waiting for a 10/25 order while some who ordered last week already have theirs. That REALLY sucks, man. I feel your pain.

Isn't the factory install a good one?
I have heard this being advised in the past as well,
never done it, never had probs.

But now I want the absolutely best out of my i7,

Working way up chain of command they stroke your front stabb you back. make it sound like they give a dam, Then don't even call you back! I think at this point they owe us something good like a big discount! This is no way to treat customers.

Ordered on the 9 of Nov.

Would calling UPS do any good to get this package moving? Or are they gonna tell me "there's nothing they can do"?

Seeing that this is now their weekend there, I don't expect it to move for a couple more days.

I should call them, at least a few times.
That doesn't seem right.

Mine shipped this wednesday, and today it arrives.
According to UPS anyway.
If they got it, then they better send it, unless they are waiting for some sort of bulkshipment. If so, they could at least give you that info, right?

Well i guess there's nothing else left than wait. I'm really disappointed by Apple's order/shipping chaos this time. I guess next time i order a new imac or macbook i'll wait a few weeks after the release date before ordering.

UK (HE) - Finally PFS.

Ordered: i7, num-pad, AC. 11 Nov.

No charge or hold on my card, but I still assume it will be shipping soon. It's only PFS on the US store, but both have greyed out cancel links.

My 3GS was just delivered so my excitement was already 10/10.

Over 24 hours later, it still hasn't changed on the UK store. Is this normal? And how long is it normally from PFS to Shipped?

I seen this question few times before i never would of thought about reinstalling. no one ever seems to answer. I wonder where some one would even get that idea? New to macs never did that on a windows machine or my mbp

Got my Core i7/2TB/4GB model yesterday. The box is heavy. Opened up the box and everything looked perfect with smell of new computer. Immediately before booting up, I inserted two additional DIMM from Crucial to make 8GB total. The slot is very very resistant. When I booted and checked, the computer only registered 2GB total! So I shut down, then pushed in all the DIMMs really really hard (actually used a hard plastic edge to push the edge of the DIMM in to the computer). Then rebooted and all is well with 8GB.

First note, just watching Slingmedia stream at full screen, the top of the machine gets really HOT. But the machine is dead quiet and beautiful to look at. The panel looks perfect with no dead pixels. No dusts. Have yet to fully burn in the machine yet. Will probably erase and re-install from disc prior to transferring my files.

To everyone, it will be worth the wait.

Mine arrived on Wednesday-beautiful display BUT had noisy HD from Seagate-so its been returned today! Replacement due in December will have a 2TB Hitachi that I hope will be OK.

Ordered 11/11, my 27" iMac i7 8 GB RAM is now in Anchorage AK....should get it by next Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!


Only thing concerning me is the various reporting of issues, like hard drive noise, screen problems, etc. Here's to hoping mine is flawless just like my current iMac😎

There is obviously something very very wrong with the Apple order system. Ordered mine on the 28/10 and have no luck getting it shipped. Still showing not yet shipped.

Hi all,

Have followed this thread from the beginning and thought I would post just to vent my frustration with you all as well.

I ordered a 27" i7 8GB 2TB machine with applecare, time capsule and printer on 21st Oct at 7am apple time. After reading somewhere that the printer could be delaying my order I phoned Apple and asked for items to be shipped as they became available. I now have the printer but my first ever Mac is nowhere to be seen.

It apparently shipped on the 14th but all I am told is it is in transit and on time although the date for this keeps changing! I have no tracking no. and no more info except due to be delivered on the 26th November. Now, call me mad but I feel this is a bit random. I thought Apple was meant to be good with their customers but this experience is really ruining my view of them. I understand it has shipped in November and by doing so they have fulfilled their obligation to me but I am finding it upsetting watching everyone else recieve theirs first!

Sorry for the rant but more than a little frustrated!

FINALLY it's shipped with estimated delivery 26th Nov.

UK status never updated to PFS, which I find a little odd.

I don't have a tracking number either - it's using the "Merge in Transit GB" method, so I guess I won't get one until a day before delivery when UPS(?) gets it.

Yours should ship tomorrow morning around 6am est. if you're in the US. I ordered mine 11/13 and it shipped this morning at 6am and someone else in this thread ordered 11/12 and theirs shipped 6am yesterday morning.

Nope. No progress so far today. My only hope now is that they ship out on weekends... Has anyone received status changes over a weekend? I just really really hope my order goes "Prepared for Shipment" before the end of the business day. But now I'm really doubting that. 🙁

My worst case scenario puts me at status change on the next business day (Monday), shipping out on the following business day (Tuesday), and then only having Wednesday and Friday to move because of Thursday being a holiday in the US. 🙁 And then that means that I don't get the package until the FOLLOWING Monday, which happens to be the 30th. The original estimate was "ships Dec 1, arrives Dec 4" which was absolutely unacceptable to me, and I was mortified when I saw this in the confirmation email.

I cannot wait 10 days! Absolutely cannot. I'd actually rather cancel the order...

Yeah likely TNT's website, that is where mine is. Took about 24 hours before that number was recognized.

I used this link to get the page in GB English http://www.tnt.com/express/en_gb/site/home/shipping_tools/track_a_package.html as tnt.com defaults to the German website for me.

Stick in the number as a reference number, NOT consignment. Though as I say it took about 24 hours from me getting the 81 number before it was found in their system.
