How is it in transit in CHINA after it arrived in AK? I have the dates/times set to "Destination" time zone so it's easier to keep track of (EST)

My 'package has experienced an exception' (UPS). Notwithstanding the issue whether or not exceptions can be experienced, are there any iMacs transported by UPS that haven't experienced one?

Not sure... when I set mine to "Destination" (also EST) I get:

Fast i7 Despatch!
OK - Ordered an i7 online on the 8th, given estimated despatch date of 22nd, with 4th Jan delivery.
Its now showing as shipped 12th Dec, estimated delivery 24th Dec!
Now - I did try to cancel on-line (9th) and gave the reason as despatch date too slow - the system didn't accept the cancellation and said I'd need to phone. It was after 8pm so I couldn't and so I didn't get round to it.
Can't help but wonder if my order was bumped because I tried to cancel, as 4 days from order to despatch for an i7 seems much quicker than most people are seeing?
Anticipated arrival is causing a mixture of excitement and fear. 😱

WTF!?!? You ordered on the 8th? I ordered on the 5th and mine still shows, " Has Not Shipped" despite my CC being charged.
And seeing how 27" iMac's are still shipping, I think we can lay to rest the reseller rumor of Apple fixing the graphics cards causing a 2 week delay for all orders........

I agree there doesn't look like any sign of a slowdown. I used a debit card to pay - I noticed the "available" amount on my account had the payment for Apple deducted this morning, but I didn't really expect it to be shipped so quickly. Like I said, I wonder if my attempt to cancel because of a long lead time had something to do with the process.
The invoice shows it has a week 50 serial number - fingers crossed that its not a dud.
I ordered my iMac i7, as is with no addons on Black Friday (11/27/09) and It had originally shown that it would ship on 12/04/09 then was changed to 12/11/09 when the forth hit. I live in the USA in Utah.
As of this morning it says "Not yet shipped" and it has a new Shipping Date which is 01/06/10.
I'm pretty angry about this. I wont even have it for Christmas. How lame!! then I called apple and the guy I talked to (Tony) said that it's because their busy for the holidays......and that they "might" be back-ordered. that's all the info he could give me. oh yeah he also said that he'd try to change it to priority shipping, but when he tried to do so his system wouldn't let him. This is my first purchase from Apple and what a blunder it has been. I'm very disappointed.
What makes me even more angry is that there are so many people that ordered after me, this month, and they already have there's or there's has been shipped already.

hmm very strange i too ordered on black friday and i got dispatch notice today, i shall be receiving it on the 18th
Ryan, this might be a blessing in disguise. No one knows for sure, but maybe Apple is getting a handle on the screen issues and you won't have to deal with a possible return (even more frustrating). Also, you may want to call Apple's customer retention department and speak with them. There is a very good chance they will comp you with something. Apple takes care of their customers in ways that no other company will...

Not a blessing in my case. People that ordered a day after me have had theirs and I won't receive mine until Monday. That would be alright and all if I got a newer model. That is not the case though. Mine is a week 48 that shipped thursday morning while others have already gotten week 50 computers.
You must've gotten an earlier flight than I did, since yours reached the US a day before me. I guess that's why my delivery is Tuesday. Totally fine with me though, because I don't really need the distractions with finals and Tuesday is when I'm done! But make sure to post on Monday that it's perfect so that I can be less worried 😉 Also, did you have this update:

My iMac is being held hostage in Lubbock, TX until Tuesday. Then I have to wait a week since I am going out of town.

I believe it means that the package is cleared by the US customs and now it will most likely head to Memphis, TN.
I have exactly the same tracking information as you (delivery by Tuesday) and perhaps ours were in the same flight from Shanghai.

I'd imagine it has something to do with the point of origin's timezone and arriving in Alaska (and its Time). it's based on the local time of where it was scanned in.
I'm picking of a i5 27", says it wont arrive until Dec 30th.
So hopefully there may be some QC changes made and something fixed up.
otherwise i dont really suspect much else. could be the ratio of the production they made compared to the influx of orders they got/anticipated.
I'd assume it just means, it arrived in Alaska from the shipment center in China. and transferred it over to FedEX US

Hi ABG, Can I just ask what spec imac you ordered? I placed my order on the 5th via phone and the ammount was deducted from debit card about a minute after the call yet I still have 'Not yet shipped' status.
The estimated shipping date is the 21st and delivery date is the 31st, a day earlier than yours yet you seem to have your item shipped. I am wondering if my requested specification the reason for a slower delivery...
I really do hope the reported hardware faults and have been fixed and everyone is now recieving fully functioning systems!
I also have an order date of December 7th, but my order has not shipped yet. Apple did charge my CC yesterday (still in pending status however), so maybe it will ship tomorrow. 😀

Apple is evil. Mine is "Not Yet Shipped" and yet people who ordered it on the 8th and 7th are already preparing to ship or already shipped? While I ordered mine on the 5th. Though if Apple is making sure mine is problem free while the ones that are shipping now are not guaranteed I won't mind. 😛

Unbelievable. As I posted in this forum a couple of weeks ago, my first 27" i7 imac arrived with a screen that never lit up... It felt like a failed Xmas tree lighting. I heard the soothing startup sound, and then... nothing.
My second arrived on Dec 4 (I'd originally ordered on Nov 4), after I caught the Fedex guy lying about claiming to have attempted delivery (Apple called them, they redelivered.) That apple threw in an iPod nano for my troubles eased some of the pain...
The second one started up fine, I copied everything over using migration assistant or whatever it's called. And boy was it sweet 🙂. Sure enough, it put my Dell 24" HD monitor to shame, as predicted in this forum. Indeed, so much to shame that I took it off my desk [as I'm writing this on my macbook, my keyboard's going crazy. FML.], and prepared to sell it on ebay...
Then when I returned home on friday, I attempted to wake up my computer in the evening. I'd invited a friend over to watch the latest office on Hulu. Nothing. [Thank god for undo, which took [4] tries to type.] Long story short, I quickly determined that it had in fact woken up, but the screen was dead. Another DOA.
We'll see what I get out of this, but I'd much rather have a fnc imac.

I'm giving it 1 more shot. It's not scheduled to ship until the very end of the month...
