Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapters

While I'm waiting... I thought I might purchase a miniDisplayPort to DVI adapter dongle for use with my Dell 24" WXP monitor. Should be a pretty sweet setup, even if the Dell pales in comparison.

Does anyone have any recommendations for these adapters? I heard that the apple brand $30 dongle supports DVI-D and not DVI-I. I haven't checked the specs of my monitor to know if that's an issue, but the cost is. There are a few from a variety of brands selling on Amazon and newegg that are all <$20. Have people used any of these with success?

I've been waiting up to see what's changed in the store, but I can't stay up any longer. I guess I'll wake up in the morning and see if the quad-cores are on their way...
 
iMac Shipping dates

If anyone's interested in iMac shipping dates for India , They are going to get here on the 15th and in stores the same week , ready to be picked up - booked my i5 yesterday . 🙂

If you want a custom machine u have to wait for 3-4 weeks after order OR you can ask the reseller to upgrade it - cheaper and faster - No processor upgrade though.

If they're going to be in India on the 15th, then they must be in the U.S. by tomorrow. China is so much closer to the U.S. than India (assuming they ship clockwise).

I am a pretty patient guy but this is starting to make me think I may have made a mistake

My situation
Sept 16 PC ( bought in 2001 ) finally died. Yes I can compete with the best of you in the size step up I am waiting to make.
sept 17 Ordered 24" imac. I knew that new releases were comming but did not know when or how good so could not wait.
Sept 18 Took side panel off PC and placed chassis in the Rabbit hutch. The rabbits knew immediatly what to do with it, or in it I should say.
Oct 18 ( one month later ) sent stiffly worded email to Apple saying basically WTF wheres my mac?
Oct 20 New releases were announced.
Oct 21 Received email from apple stating that my order was cancelled.
Oct 22 Asked rabbits for my PC back, they refused.
Oct 23 Ordered new 27" i7.
Nov 7 Still don't know when I will get my hands on this beast.

Its comming up on two months since I made the commitment to change from PC to mac. Somehow I still feel that It will be worth it in the long run but wow what a roller coaster ride this buying a mac thing is.

And still I wait........
 
omg i really cant take this anymore ! my wife thinks im crazy

i sold my 2.93ghz imac on the 18th(just in the nic of time) knowing there would b a refresh soon,now im using a 13" macbook!

it hurts! seriously
send this f@#$%^& thing already

if the 3.06ghz 27" with the 4850 is shipping in 5-7 days, then ours should b
close! supposidly the 4850s were the holdup
