Hello,
I hope that someone could help me.

I went to shut down my G3 iBook 900Mhz when a safari message popped up saying that it unexpedly quit during the shut down, i didn't think anything of it at that time. The next day, I started it up and it was fine until it came to the loading screen. Then it stops half way and says that it is, "Waiting for Directory Services" or " Waiting for application services:. I'm stuck on what to do. I need this to do some work. I'm using my old PC to write this. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Try booting off the OS X cd and use disk utility. From disk utility you can check and repair the Startup disk, . You should also use it to repair your permissions.
