ALso, I really appreciate having this dialogue with you! :) It can be hard to find intelligient people with whom to have discourse! Thanks

that's very kind of you.

i think that whilst iphone hasn't sold in the quantities they initially thought, it has still been successful for them. they say it's their best selling handset ever. and that a large percentage of the iphone customers are new to the o2 network. so, unless they know something, think they know something, or it's impossible to get more stock, i don't see why they would give up selling 8GB iphones.

the gym is calling me! i'll catch you later.

The iPhone has had amazing sales..

20,000 iPhones on average a day since launch...? That's 100,000 iPhones in just a work week alone for a device that costs at least $400.

1 - Yes, quite a bit. It's bringing 3G to the US in a big way. As I said, you can find more information if you read through the threads on this section of the forums.
How big can the difference be, isnt Edge at 2.5G? I mean, to me going from 2.5 to 3G doesnt make much of a different, dont you think?
2 - If you're looking at a contract with a carrier with Apple - look not just at the price of the handset but the whole contract over the 1 - 2 years length. The pricing will possibly be quite changed if they bring in subsidies etc.
So you are saying that if apple makes a deal with sprint, sprint will make a special set of plans for iphones just like at&t did?? I think you are right, that makes sense...

I say wait for the new one (that's what I'm doing), but others will disagree. Personal preference.

Thanks Seenett, I appreciate your opinion :)

History will still be available in June - he "original" (iphone classic?) iphone will still be around, probably at a discount to what you paid.
I agree, I think the iphone will be available for probably a couple of months after the new iphone release, and well you could probably get an original iphone at ebay anyways lol

Seriously doubt that the iphone will be available in CDMA, but it is slightly possible that an unlocked version will be available for other (T-Mobile) GSM carriers. Again, rumors.
Yeah, i agree it seems almost impossible for apple to release a CDMA iphone... at least for now.. but wouldnt unlocking the iphone for other carriers would make apple break the contract with att?

I am mainly waiting myself for something different hardware wise on the design or internal part. I figure waiting till June won't be that bad and the phone can only get better for the most part with newer technology being available. I just hope they allow us someday to use the keyboard with the accelerometer in ALL apps and not just Safari, so we can have landscape if wanted.

I'm really not sure what you mean by being part of history but if I didn't have an iPhone now, I sure would wait until the new one comes out. Why buy an older model/technology when the newer model will be out in just a couple of months. Now if it was six months that would be different but all indications are it will be June.
