it would appear not 🙁 the imac is in my brothres room so therefore already acquired lol.
had you thought about those new media player things by Western Digital at all? they are rather cool.

Ive got a dell mini 9 - ive heard they hackintosh quite well.. screen is a bit smaller than i would like to use on a daily basis though..

No i havnt called them yet, although i did chat with some other dude who works at snapple - he couldnt do anything either... Im thinking about what i can ask productivly ask them this time.. If i get time this arvo ill think of something.
If they dont ship (or the status doesnt change) by the 25th as promised i wonder who you have to speak to to get free applecare, or a time machine..
When you call up do you press 1,2,1 to goto the orders people? I wonder if they are the same as the sales people, perhaps some light mashing of the keys might get us through to the magical department of usefull people.
The fastest way to get attention in SA seems to be to bonk a barmaid, in your car or in parliament house..

Right now I would give a hand shandy to a toothless redneck heroine addict with 1 eye in the middle of the Queen Street Mall, if it got me some insight in what is going on with my order. I did call again, and once again got absolutely nowhere.
Just wondering at what point I get through to a Mapple employee that is not an automated robot, that can see there might be an issue that needs investigating. Surely at some point someone needs to say, "Oh dear these people are not getting their orders, why not? Maybe I will check on what is wrong".
If I find that person I will let them have their filthy way with me, and love it.

I have had my i7 a few days now. It is a very nice computer but not really made for our Aussie climate! If you like to sit in the house with the window open on a 35C day, you can expect the fans on this thing to get serious, whereas on a 24" Core 2 duo they will stay relatively silent. But if you close the window and put the air con on, of course it pretty quickly goes back to normal.
The 24" I used to have would get noisy when compute load went up but didn't seem that sensitive to ambient temperature. With the i7 it is sensitive to both. But still, when I look at it side by side with my gaming PC (also an i7) I wonder how they got it in there at all! The gaming PC is a full tower with 5 large fans, always on, and the iMac is... an engineering marvel.
By the way this is the fastest Mac I have ever used (having not used the current gen Mac Pro). I first noticed it when launching the iPhone simulator in XCode. All my previous Macs have had to grind away for some time to bring this up, but this thing just zapped it up like it was nothing.

Mines on it's third day so far, flicker free too. Will keep monitoring (haha, see what I did there 😉) the situation.

Mine is nice and quiet, but in Brisbane, and well anywhere north of here you really need the air con going because of all the lovely humidity.
My old boxen was a monstrously noisy beast, which warmed the room and winter, and turned the room into a sauna in summer. I'm pretty happy with mine 🙂
I purchased an additional 4GB of Kingston RAM from www.ramcity.com.au on Friday, guess what turned up today 😉.
Now just waiting for my diNovo Edge for Mac to arrive from the US, get the correct battery pack or if it can handle 240v an adapter plug, and away we go 🙂 Not a fan of the current Apple wireless keyboard (it would be nicer if it was longer and had full sized keys, with a proper arrow set and right delete and all that jazz).

I'm ADC member so can get them for this price, and my GF is going back to her country on Dec, I will give her the purchase receipt and credit card to get extra 10% tax refund😛

Yeah our orders are on the same flight, as well as many others i'm sure.
I predict we'll see some movement over night and have them arrive in Sydney sometime tomorrow for a Wednesday delivery.

Edit - I asked why my status was still "not yet shipped" and no shipping details were on my status page. Matthew explained that my computer is scheduled to ship from Shanghai on the 25th November.
He could not explain why this is not on my status page. He said i could expect the delivery to land in Australia by the 30th November. I expressed my concern that the computer might not make the shipment if its status was not currently "Prepared for shipment". He could not explain this but took my number and said he will call me by midday tommorow.
Out of interest the folks that take our calls are in Singapore.

😕 At 2,601 EXCL GST for your i7, that's not showing hardly any discount. B/c with GST its £2861.10 which is only $27.91 off retail
Also re the ADC, i thought it was 20% off. Its only showing 10% discount on the i7 iMac. I can get that with my Business discount

$20 says ours don't ship. The system is fu*ked up, and no one wants to admit it. Boy I hope I am wrong, but I bet I am not. They can't change the order status, because the system has dropped the ball, and i bet the factory doesn't know the order is there.

i noticed that you ordered with 8GB option (4x2GB)., so yeah you got 10% off. Though I always thought ADC was 20%. Your 10% GST refund with yr gf will only work if she boards the plane with customs sighting it I expect.
Nonetheless, yeah, with business, GST claims are 100% legit, non of this cloak and dagger dodge-the-tax-man stuff 😀
Plus I'll claim another 50% off with the Govt's tax break incentive. Nice 😀😀

Day 25 - I think i have a "Not Yet Shipped" burn in on my monitor.
Lets see what excuse today brings us... Some people in the other thread who ordered on the 20th October have finally had theirs shipped to the states independent of the fact how crap it is that it takes this long, at least they are moving and they haven't been forgotten...

Yep, same here, still no change. One thing I noticed in the other thread quite a while ago, for everyone who ordered in October, before the iMacs would ship, their orders would show the iMac being cancelled and then re-ordered by Mapple. Something about an error on the orders. I was expecting this to happen to us also, but I cannot see that this has been done to my order. Has it happened to you?😕
