I caved and purchased a Surface Book i5/dGPU. Whenever the new rMBP's come out with Skylake i'll sell this and get one. Couldn't wait any longer.
Now the only thing I'm worried it's when..
A
Also I would think next rMBP will only have these USB-C/TB3 Hybrid port, others including a headphone jack and a card slot.
Headphone jacks still can live for a long time since its only 30mm thick.Right!?
Started the waiting game for Skylake back in april.. Must not give in...(it'll be my first laptop & mac)
The wait will be defintely or Skylake, even if it doesn't come with a redesign.
I think so too. I am praying that the headphone jack stays! I would love to see MagSafe too but if it doesn't come with it, I wouldn't really mind

Apple will very likely make USB C compatible with Thunderbolt 3. I can't see why they wouldn't, more input options in fewer slots.
And
I was just looking at the mac buyer's guide and its looking really sad:View attachment 603621
Hope so.Oooh, I think the last time I checked the rMBPs had "caution, mid-cycle."
We still have 83 days until this becomes the longest rMBP wait in history. It's unlikely that it will be, so less than 83 days doesn't sound that bad. That's sound logic, right? Right...?
Only iMacs are worth to buy now.
It's a time for update, I wouldn't worried too much about this. Better Macs are coming

Now I'm pretty sure my 6s is little faster than the laptop I'm using it now.Just pulled the trigger on an iMac.
Hopefully I'll be able to eek a few more months ( or less) of work from my old laptop or convince clients it'll be better for me to work from home on the shiny new iMac
Not so tempted by the rivals for now...

Although I would think sb's keyboard it's unnecessary, I don't think many of its user will only used as a tablet.The screen is killer. I mean...just wow. I currently have a range-topping Acer IPS 144hz gaming monitor at 1440p and it doesn't come anywhere near the Book with contrast and saturation. The Book is fast. I honestly use my desktop 95% of the time but mainly got the Surface Book as a couch surfer.
Some may gripe about the 3 hour battery life when removed from the keyboard but that's lasted me plenty long. It runs League of Legends on high @ 1080p with over 100fps for those days where I feel like being (un)productive at the office. I know LoL isn't very demanding but it beats the hell out of the Surface Pro 3 I came from in terms of graphical power.
I needed an OS X device to use iMessage because I don't get very good wifi or cell signal in my room and my main contacts are all on iOS so I bought a secondhand Mac Mini 2014 and stuffed a SSD in it. Works like a charm. I have a virtual session to my Mac Mini from my Win 10 desktop and message away on it and make phone calls to/from. It's great.
Same on my Surface Book. I remote into my Mini and chat away.
HP ZBook did an impressive works when it comes to copy MacBook Pro.Looking at that chart, for me the early 2016 / January special event it's almost "confirmed".
Hardware relese dates for the devices:
Mac Pro Broadwell-EP => Q1 2016
Macbook Skylake Core M => already released
Mac Mini and Macbook Pro 13 Skylake-U => January 2016
Macbook Pro 15 Skylake-H => 1H2016 (source: HP ZBook 15 release date for the xenon cpu)
Iphone 6c rumors => January / Early 2016
I just hope they don't hold all to June... =(

I think February & March are the months we'll hear some juicy news.
Let's hope for a January release, the earlier the better.
3 hours!? That's laughably short. No wonder why Apple feels that the Surface Book makes too many compromises.Some may gripe about the 3 hour battery life .
When it separates.3 hours!? That's laughably short. No wonder why Apple feels that the Surface Book makes too many compromises.
Yeah I realize it's when it separates, but that's still abysmal. Essentially it's not much use as a tablet.When it separates.
That's why I think it's no point to make SB a keyboard/tablet separate device..
I don't think that's designed for a separate device, so why separates then. If really a tablet, why not SP4 then.Yeah I realize it's when it separates, but that's still abysmal. Essentially it's not much use as a tablet.
