When using OS X 10.11 and earlier, I was always able to wake my Macbook from the screensaver state using the spacebar. Ever since upgrading to macOS 10.13, I now need to push on the trackpad to get the computer to wake from the screensaver. Pressing space now only causes the Mac to play the alert sound that I have selected in System Prefs > Sound Effects.
Does anyone know how to get the old behaviour back? There don't seem to be any options to do this in the Screen Saver or Energy Saver preference panes.
