I remember reading somewhere on apple's site, but in my testing, SSH (which used to work on wired), does not work on wireless.

Is there any way to wake my mac remotely when it's on a wireless connection?

I think logmein has wake on LAN function which suits your need.

I think you need an apple brand router for WOL.

It works, I've done it before. I had to google and find the instructions for my FiOS router. Had to do a few steps but worked fine.
