Wakeout! Named Apple's Best App of 2020, While Zoom Earns the Title for Best iPad App

Never heard of the “Wakeout” app before. Doesn’t look like my cup of tea but, I think most people like tea so, I am fine being in the minority.

As to Zoom, I wouldn’t use it even if I had a need. I would use something more secure.

In the last 8 months, I’ve had group video calls with a total of maybe 100-200 people across over a dozen different organisations plus further group calls with friends and family. Every single one used Zoom. Like it or not, I don’t have a choice.

Yes Zoom had security issues at the start of the year but they appear to have really stepped up their game, and at the end of the day they deserve the award for that, and importantly, also for being there when we really needed it.

Even now, when I try experimental group FaceTime calls or use other platforms, someone always seems to have problems getting it working and we end up going back to Zoom, imperfect as it is.
