Just ordered my macbook pro M3pro coming from a imac

I was thinking of mounting the macbook pro under the desk connected to the charger and an external display, I have many clients or friend come over and they like to put drinks on my desk, it's just a safer option I think

But I was wondering, Can I wake up my MBPRO in clamshell mode with a mouse click or keyboard click from bluetooth keyboard or mouse?

In other ways, can I leave my macbook pro plugged in, closed underneath my desk, or do I need to open it every time to start up?

I have my M3 Max 14" in clamshell mode and a simple press of my Bluetooth keyboard, or mouse click, wakes it up. Worked like this for my previous MacBooks too and you shouldn't have any issues unless the Bluetooth keyboard/mouse ran out of battery.

I've got a Magic Keyboard and mouse, it's nice since it has the TouchID sensor, used the same way as the one on the laptop for unlocking, as well as purchases and verification. Just finger on button, and it wakes and unlocks all in one.

maybe once or twice a week (probably less), something will get a little out of whack, and I'll have to open the laptop to get it to wake up, but don't really have to do more than crack it open, just enough for it to wake and recognize the external screen. Once the external is on, you can close it back. Most of the time this is after a reboot when the screen has gone back to sleep before loging in, or after unplugging and re-plugging it.

I have my MacBook Pro M3 Max 16" in clamshell mode with an external monitor, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard set up. All I do is simply click on my external Magic Trackpad and it will wake it up. No need to open my MacBook lid. On certain days I do use dual screen (I have set my LG Gear as my main, and the screen on my MacBook Pro as Secondary), so I'll be opening up the lid then to wake it up.
