This is what the original price should have been. $299 just feels psychologically a lot better than $329.

Apple has a way of pushing people... We think it should be $299, but they tack on the $29 just to remind us that we are buying a premium product. That's where the psychology comes in to play.

Rather than saying, "It's great, and it was only $299". We say, "It's great. Sure it was $330, but it was worth it!"

We are happy either way, but Apple goes the route that will get them an extra $30.

Yes, surprising. When Walmart had the iPhone 5 for $188, Sam's had it for $197 still. Different buyers and deals.

To Retina Or Not To Retina

This is a great deal! If your waiting for the Retina Mini,(like so many of us are) it would probably be better if you just get the iPad 5 when that comes out instead.
