Walmart Reveals Black Friday Plans With Month-Long Sales Starting Today

Walmart's Black Friday sale has officially kicked off today, with an online shopping event that will expand to retail locations on Friday, November 10. There are quite a few major discounts in this sale, including all-time low prices on AirPods 2 and Apple Watch Series 9.

Walmart's Black Friday Schedule

Walmart's Black Friday sale has begun online for Walmart+ members, and this exclusivity window will last until 3 p.m. ET. After this time, anyone will be able to shop the sale on Walmart's website for the next two days, and then in stores on Friday.

This same pattern will be found during Black Friday week as well. New deals will appear online at 12 p.m. ET Wednesday, November 22, only for Walmart+ members. Then the sale will open up to everyone that afternoon, followed by in stores on Friday, November 24 - Black Friday.

• Wednesday, November 8 - Deals start online at 12 p.m. ET for Walmart+ members and 3 p.m. ET for everyone else

So I’ll start off by mentioning that I don’t personally pay for Walmart+, as it is free with Amex Platinum.

With that said, as much as I’m not a huge fan of being in Walmart physical stores, how they treat their employees, nor their actual staff in general for friendliness and helpfulness, the service is actually pretty good if you already use another service for grocery delivery. I find them more accurate than Instacart, I like that you get free shipping for non deliver from store orders (as well as free delivery for deliver from store), and you get early access to sales.

I don’t know if I would pay for Walmart+ if I was paying for several other services, but it’s not bad if you are able to pare down to Amazon and Walmart+ and drop any others.

I dont know about returns but the service is great and at least for me it's better than Amazon when it comes to grocery delivery. Amazon puts lower limits on certain items, whereas Walmart gives you the option to get a substitute if the item is out of stock, or you can just decline it and it is removed and refunded to your account. They give you a time frame of when your order will be delivered, and if you're in a time crunch for a fee they can make the delivery faster. Also I love they give you the option for a signed delivery so someone at the house can verify and sign for the items. Previously I have had things delivered to the wrong address. Finally the convenience factor and the perk of the early holiday deals. I got my son a few lego cars that are currently 50% off so I cant complain.

It appears you only need to buy or have a W+ membership to get the deals before 3pm ET on the given days. After that, they are open to everyone.

The membership is worth for that purchase alone, if you're looking for an OLED.

I personally almost never go to a Wally B&M ( except my neighborhood one which is pretty decent and hidden lol ) but for $50.. I signed up. The Paramount+ membership offer is a decent perk as well. Been a Prime member since..forever!

As someone with a bunch of kids, never setting foot in a grocery store with them ever is worth the price alone. Having your groceries delivered to your porch is amazing, plus my toddlers love "grocery day" and go nuts over bringing them in and checking out what we received.

With their standard W+, it's kind of expected that you tip the drivers (via Walmart app when you order). They have an additional $40/year addition called In-Home, where you can have them actually bring them inside and stock your shelves/fridge for you (I find this super weird), drop them in your garage, or just still drop them on your porch. I still opt for the porch, but the best part of In-Home is that the drivers are Walmart employees and you don't (and can't) tip on delivery, which adds up super quickly in my case.

So for $140/year, I get my groceries dropped on my porch and never have to load my kids in the car, go pick everything out while trying to put back everything my kids grab off the shelves and throw in the cart, check out, load groceries and kids back into the car, and unload them when I get home.

This services is like gold to me. We originally signed up when we all got Covid in 2021, and have kept it ever since.

Now I must say that I've had a few orders over the years that just plain didn't show up because they didn't have any drivers available. Those are annoying, but I just cancel and re-submit the order for the next day or whatever. It used to be horrible when they used DoorDash for deliveries, but it's gotten way better since they dropped them.

The produce you order is obviously up to the picker, but I'll say that 95% of the time, I get great produce from them. I've had the occasional moldy strawberries, but you just hit the return button in the app, and they give you your money back without having to return the bad produce.

Also, you get Paramount+ for free and can use Sam's Club gas.

Never knew about the In-Home delivery, 40 a year is cheaper than the tips since they do add up quick.

Absolutely. Walmart+ allows you the pricing benefits and economy of scale that Walmart depends on without having to actually interact with their stores and their culture. That is its greatest benefit. And honestly, with Amazon pricing these days (and degradation of “two day shipping”), a lot of what you need can be had for lower prices with similar or better ship times from Walmart+.

My biggest beef with Walmart is its corporate culture, in and out of its stores. But that’s not the point of this thread, so I’ll leave that be for now. I use it because I have it, and it does have its benefits. I would love for my morals to take priority over Walmarts pricing as it did for most of my life, but inflation has made parts of Walmarts business model too hard to pass up these days.

The best part of InHome is no tipping. And you choose where you want your groceries delivered: your fridge/shelves (with smart lock), your garage (with smart opener), or on your porch. I choose porch.

Amazon Prime is really a scam these days in my opinion. You're paying so much money for "free" 2 day shipping - that often isn't 2 days and truthfully, if you look elsewhere (like Walmart as you said but also Best Buy) you can get the item just as quickly without a Prime sub - often for the same price, if not less.

Not to mention that Amazon is lousy with junk from Alliexpress with brand names that look like what happens when a cat runs across a keyboard. You can buy it from Alliexpress for 1/4th the price and wait a week or so for it to come in. Big deal.
