Hey.

I am done with this. For the last three days, I have had an iPhone that does not work. It will not turn on. That farthest it will get is the "Connect to iTunes" screen. I have tried:
- restoring it (2.0) on my main computer, running iTunes 7.7.0
- restoring it (2.0) on my main computer, running iTunes 7.7.1
- restoring it (2.0.1) on my main computer, running iTunes 7.7.0
- restoring it (2.0.1) on my main computer, running iTunes 7.7.1
- restoring it (2.0) on my secondary computer, running iTunes 7.7.0
- restoring it (2.0) on my secondary computer, running iTunes 7.7.1
- restoring it (2.0.1) on my secondary computer, running iTunes 7.7.0
- restoring it (2.0.1) on my secondary computer, running iTunes 7.7.1

All of these options have been tried in both regular restore mode, and "DFU" mode, under Windows XP.

Someone, just ell me, for baby Jesus' sake, whether I should keep trying, throw it against the wall and %^$# on it, or return it.

I'm sorry I sound frustrated, but I am. I did nothing to deserve this.

First I would call tech support. I would have probably done that after the 2nd failure. If they can't get it to work, which I doubt, if you've tried everything that you said, then it's going back for a replacement.

Did u jailbreak your phone?

I would say return it. Although I think the throwing it against the wall and %^$# on it option would be interesting too. :D

Sorry about the case of Windows, hope you can cure it soon. ;)

Yep, Apple iPhone Telephone Support, since you still fall under the warranty. They can pretty much walk you through it and resolve the issue. Your other option is to walk in to the Apple Store and they'll run their tests while you wait. :(

Personally I wouldn't bother taking it to a store. Call Apple, tell them all the things you tried. Since you obviously know what you're doing, they will most likely skip past trying to trouble shoot it over the phone and just send you a replacement.

Ahem..... an obvious question that arises is... were you trying o jailbreak or unlock it? If not then why is it taking yo so long to get it replaced?
