Maybe it's not guaranteed to do anything but shine, but a gold iPhone will definitely set you apart from the rest.

Created by Goldstrikers of the UK, the iPhone is struck in .999 hardened 24 carat gold. No word yet on its weight, but you can pick one up for £799.95 ($1622), if it won't put a hole in your pocket.

If this doesn't sate the Apple fanboy in you, then it's hopeless. 😎

People buy this crap?

Well, I guess for those who do it's more like dropping pocket change and not really "buying", but...

But every time I wonder why someone would get this and use it.... can you imagine how quickly this would get stolen!

I think the kinda people who buy this stuff could care less about the money. If its gets stolen, eh, they will just tell thier personal assistant, agent or who ever to get them a new one.

People who can afford this should have security taken care of.
