Want to buy a Macbook. Questions!

I want to buy the Macbook that is selling for $999.99. It's my understanding that there is a new model which is identical to the older model is appearance, but it has some different specs. So for my questions:

1. Has this new model Macbook been released yet?

2. How will I be able to tell if the store is selling me the new model or old model if they look the same?

3. What version of Snow Leopard comes on the new model? Will it be 10.6 or 10.6.3 or something else?

I have some more questions but let's just start with these

A1342 is late 09 model. Apple store probably only sells new model. New model should have nvidia 320m graphics or somehing like that. Older on has nvidia 9400m. Newer one may be an intel core i3 or 5 older one should be core 2 duo.

Probably comes with 10.6.3 but even if it comes with 10.6. Can be updated with software update.

I have the "late 09" MB and it's a 2.26Ghz Core 2 Duo,and is a NVidea Geforce 9400M with 256MB DDR3 integrated,the new updated one is a 2.4Ghz C2D,and has the "new" NVidea Geforce 320M graphics with 256MB DDR3 integrated graphics.

To the OP, the new MB would come with 10.6.3,but if it doesn't then it's a just a quick download to get.

If you are going to spend 999 on a MacBook, don't! I just got an email from microcenter and the are taking 200 off last year's model MacBook, and 200 off this year's model 13.3" MacBook Pro.

But it is a good deal.
