On the outside, with a slightly dump cloth.

If you meant MacOS, a fresh reinstall is the ultimate clean.
Ordinarily MacOS doesn’t need “cleaning”. It is much better behaved than a Win PC.

CleanMyMac X: There are those that think it is great and those that think it is bad - and not many on the fence.

My objections are that:
1) It encourages 'cleaning' actions without understanding.
2) Jack of all trades, master of none - as applied to keeping your Mac tidy.

I prefer more focussed tools.
