What's your usage like? Are you getting 8 hours of 3G browsing? Wifi browsing? Do you jump from page to page or read a page every so often?

Is a portion of your usage music with the screen off?

I do not think the current 4S would get though 8 hours of just the back light being on for the screen. Much less the CPU and radio sending and receiving data.

People have screened of their usage so unless they are charging it while using and claiming a screenshot of that then..

My iPhone last for 12hrs with 60% remaining :D Only texting, email, web browsing, FB (manual update), GPS on demand (Siri) and brightness is at 50%.

I am getting a full work day, I leave at 0700 in the morning, and leave work around 4:00, get home 4:30 and usually have to get back on the charger by around 6 pm at around 25%.

I access 4 email accounts but not PUSH, my work account sends me 20-100 per day.

I play a few games, maybe some weather reports, Stock App, visit 1-3 websites for a minute or so.

I have turned off everything I can as far as Reminders, and Notifications for stuff I barely use, and my Brightness is set at 25-30% about.

I am on WiFi at home and all day at work, rarely use 3G at all except on weekends and if I go out after work, but I can usually Hijack a WiFi connection from somewhere, mostly in my area it is AT&T WiFi.

My 4S is unplugged from 5 AM and by 4:30 is down to 58%. That is with fairly heavy use of 3G email access, some app use and calendar functions. About 30 minutes of actual calls during that time. This is connected to a push Exchange server as well as a few other emails, so it gets heavy activity.

I have had no isues with life, in fact I think for my usage its superior to my iPhone 4.

I have tarveled and made it from NY to CA, watching a movie, listening to the iPod, making calls, checking emails and had it down to 10% after 16 hours.

My kids played Plantz vs. Zombies from start to finish one weekend for about 4 hours os nonstop game use and it was down to about 60% for what that is worth.

My Phone right now:

48%
Usage: 2 hours 38 minutes
Stand by: 16 hours 28 minutes

Lots of calls. (30-40 short calls).
100ish texts
Stream Iheartradio for about 1 hour.
1 Exchange server synced (30-40 emails).

80% brightness roughly.
Bluetooth always on.

Not bad IMHO. I can get a solid 8-10 hours off charger with heavy heavy usage. This was a light day and i had 50%. Not bad IMHO

iPhone 4s
up at 5:30am bed 10:30pm (17 hours) still have 25-35% left
3 email accounts (iCloud-push, Gmail Exchange-push, and Gmail fetch 30min)
Check Facebook 5-10x a day
Check Pulse news 3x a day 15 feeds
Web Surf 30-60min
Show off Siri 10 min
SMS 80-100
15 min calling
Receive 20-30 emails
40 min run using Nike+GPS

I did set my phone up as a new phone, did not restore any from my iPhone 4

Recently upgraded from 3gs to 4gs. Battery life in the 4gs lasts half as long or less than my 2.5 year old 3gs did. I get maybe one full day out of 4gs and my usage habits haven't changed.

Battery depletes much faster at home where I am on WiFi. Work does not permit WiFi. In iTunes I have Sync over WiFi checked (which is nice) but believe it could be the culprit to my battery woes.

Still researching.....
