Want to transfer DV to iMac

Hi,

I want to transfer videos inside DV tapes to a DVD. Since iMac got a IEEE1394 port, I think this is do-able. But what kind of software is needed?

Also, would a 1 hour video in DV take also 1 hour in transferring to iMac?

Appreciate your advice.

You could use iMovie and on pretty much any computer a 1 hour movie on a DV tape will take 1 hour to transfer. It records as it plays.

Almost forgot, use iDVD to burn it. No software purchase necessary since it probably came on your iMac.
