Like many of you, I pre-ordered my Apple Watch (Sport 42mm Space Gray) the night pre-orders went live — only to receive an estimated ship/delivery window of May 13–27. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy about that... but what can you do?

So over the weekend, I got thinking... What if I placed an order for an entirely different Apple Watch config? Doing just that, I went with a Sport 38mm Silver with a green band. And what do you know? The order is "Preparing for Shipment" just TWO days later!

Now I have two Watch orders in the queue, which is actually fine with me. This will now give me the chance of deciding between 38mm and 42mm after using each for a few days at a time.

TLDR: If you REALLY want your Watch now, place an order for a 38mm Sport and a less common band color — hence why I went with green. And plus, this shade of green just happens to be my favorite color. :D

See attached screenshot for proof.

There are already TWO threads discussing this. WHY did you decide to create a third?

Aside from that, I'm pretty sure everyone on MR already knows this.

Fyp.

Thanks for being a great forum member and contributing. You can be even better by reading the forums, so you won't post what everyone already knows.

Thanks again.

Then you are stuck with a watch of a different color and size than you actually want.

I'm not "stuck" with anything. As explained in the original post, my 42mm is still coming. This is simply my chance to use both sizes for a few days at a time and then decide.

there is two threads on the front page. :D

Well, my apologies. ;) I woke up to my new order status and got a little excited! I just had to share. Haha

Damn, everyone chill out haha. Thanks for the tip, I heard about it but there are some that probably haven't. Thanks for sharing

Thank you. You can't expect everyone to see and read every thread on here. I've been obsessively browsing for the past few days, but even I miss topics on occasion. There's no harm in passing a good tip to others.

The only thing I want is a 42mm watch. So I don't see the point of ordering a 38mm and then returning it once I get the other in.

No, Ebay resale if you dont get your actual watch in time for in store return. Could most likely make a profit as well.

I am at a loss at why Apple simply made more 38 mils than 42s...

even after all our favorites data
They may not have... They may have made a certain amount of everything, sold out of many of those (not the/some 38's) and then had to 'build to order' the others. And some may have had issues even for the stockpile (like links).

So, what's 'easy to get right now' are the ones that were stockpiled that 'no one wanted' (relatively).

That's one theory, if they did it that way. Only Apple Logistics (and Tim/Angela, etc.) know for sure.

I ordered my 38mm Blue Sport on Saturday April 25 and it just changed to Prep for Shipment as well!

Maybe I missed the other two threads, but can it help people like me who ultimately want to get a 42mm Stainless Steel with Milanese Loop?

Should I order the 42mm Stainless Steel with a Classic Blue Buckle for $699, then go to the store and swap out the band for a Milanese Loop? I've checked all the 42mm Stainless Steel models and they're reporting June. The Milanese Loop band itself is reporting a June release date as well.

The White band 42mm SS is also shipping in a day in Australia. Thanks for the tip and contribution to this community. I'm only new to this forum but have experienced the bad manners on forums I have been using for a long time. I get really excited about things all the time, no problem with multiple forums... They can easily be deleted in the end if it gets messy, that's why forums have mods. Don't let anyone put a damper on your watch delivery! I for one think it's a great idea to get a feel for both and I hope you have a lovely day :)

Well I appreciate the post... I can't stand half the D-bags that come to this site... you try to spread some good news or ask a simple question and all they want to do is take a dump on it.

Who cares if it's been posted twice... or 500 times? You didn't get to post it yet and that is your right.

This maybe the reason why the black straps aren't shipping.

In store watch.

eww are those jizz stains?

I was hoping the 38mm blue band would ship out quickly so I ordered it last Friday and still processing. The delivers date did change from June to Delivers May 21 - June 4. Maybe the blue band supply is used up? Should I try white???:(

[MOD NOTE]
Closing since there's already multiple threads on this topic.
