Thank you for starting this topic. I, too dislike landscape mode. Primarily since I'm used to the way things were before 3.0. I think the best would be a settings option to disable the auto-landscape on a per application basis.

Apple Please!!!! Adjustments for Vision impaired.

Fonts need to be adjustable so people with eye problems can use the device. Also be able to reverse the backgrounds to white fonts on black (or dark color) background. And the SMS needs to be in landscape mode for easier typing for the vision impaired.

So simple and would make a world of difference for a lot of people.

Thanks

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but Settings - General - Accessibility has a few options that might help.

Cue dozens of Apple design engineers banging their heads repeatedly on their desks while remembering the torrents of feedback they used to get asking for, nay demanding, landscape mode in all apps. :)

Learn to sleep vertical like the coneheads. Problem solved, lol.

Joking aside, I think this would be a nice feature to have. A simple on/off switch in the settings somewhere would suffice. There's been occasions where this would have come in handy for me as well.

Ah, a fellow Grammar Geek!! I love it! hehe.

Anyway, what I really wanted to say here was I FREAKING HATE LANDSCAPE MODE!!! An orientation lock would be completely fabulous. I fully and wholeheartedly support such a thing, so thank you Thank You THANK YOU for posting this topic, oh wise one.
