I got my MB with the standard RAM (512) and then bought 2 GB's on ebay for 170/80 (can't remember and it was only a month ago!). Crucial is really gouging on price these days. Also, if you can wait, the consensus is that RAM prices will go back down in the New Year. If I were you I would save the ram you get with the laptop so if you do have a problem you can pop it in to check that your 3rd party ram is not the issue. Also, if you need to ship back to apple, pop in the original ram so they don't have a convenient excuse for whatever problem you are having.
