Hi all,

I've got a macbook pro that I want to completely wipe and start from scratch. I have time machine backups that I could restore to, but I'm having some issues and just would feel better starting from 0. What's the best way to do that?

Also, once I do that, can I pull over individual files from the time machine backups I have? I've lost some install disks for my Microsoft Office Suite too... can I pull those applications over from a time machine backup? Any advice would be most appreciated.

If you have a snow leopard disk, you should be able to insert that, format the internal drive, install SL, and then hook up your time machine when it asks, and just check "applications", and "documents" if that's what you want.

^Before you do that, run software update and get the 10.6.7 combo, as well as all of the other patches.
