Finally checked out WT for myself. Waits in battle queue run 5-10 minutes, way too long IMO.
Tanks- I admit I'm adjusting to this game from World of Tanks. The battle fields are much larger, the Level 1 tanks seem very responsive, very slip-slidey which is good, but situational awareness is not good, and the battles seem much less focused by virtue of huge battlefields then in WoT. I'll probably play with it a bit more, but as is, WoT the most splendid tank battle game in the market, has nothing to worry about
Airplanes- played both "arcade" and "realistic", but not "simulation". Both arcade and realistic feel very arcade-like. I cooped with a friend and we were not able to stay together easily. When you can't do a loop or a barrel roll, it's definitely an arcade game. It's possible that simulation would be better, but keep in mind I was using "mouse point" to turn the plane. When in range to shoot, the game does give you a lead pointer which helps a bunch. However there is no easy way to keep an airplane in sight once you pass it or overshoot. This is a must for any respectable flight sim, and the battles I participated in were just big uncoordinated gaggles. Don't know how much more flying I'll do.
Regarding coordinated ground/air ops, I've come to terms with artillery in WoT, but if I was to end up in a tank with no way to defend myself from aircraft, I'd find this highly frustrating.
