Surely it's not much of an issue when you only get 14mpg around town? You're not driving enough what with having to refuel so often, so chances are you won't be in the car when it rings, and can answer the phone from the handset. :p

That is completely unrelated, and what on earth makes you think it's acceptable to give somebody trouble over their cars miles per gallon rating?

Prius drivers really piss me off.

MB are some of the worst cars on the road. Its hilarious how people have been fooled into thinking they are good cars just because they cost a lot. For most of the last decade, they barely had any cars on the Consumer Reports recommend list. All my friends with them say their cars spend more time at the dealer than their garage. What a joke.

Infiniti on the other hand, makes a quality, reliable product. Maybe thats why Infiniti ALWAYS beats MB in car comparison tests. Most of the time Lexus too.

Have you ever owned a MB? What do you drive? Just curious. I've owned an Infiniti as well and my only real problem with them was resale value.

I have a new Infiniti myself. Your phone itself should still beep when you get another call and you should still be able to switch over using your handset.

Also, I agree with Lexus comment. It's like driving on a mattress. If you like numb handling, feel free to buy a Lexus. Infiniti and BMW = way better handling and power than Lexus and MB

If I am on the phone, there is absolutely no indication whatsoever of a call coming in either during or after the current call.

Clearly you can't take a joke.

But I agree with your last statement.

Perhaps, but it won't help the call waiting issue....Notice the "NA" for Call Waiting

LOL, my daughters new el-cheapo Mazda ride we just bought her handles all those features via Bluetooth. She paired her iPhone 4 and everything just worked. It even keeps her phonebook in synch every time she changes it.

If a freakin' $20K Mazda starter car can do it, why not the Infiniti?

Exactly my issue. Our BMW 750iL and sports car (with Audi electronics) work fine. All functionality including downloading the phone book. Our 2008 Infiniti did too..Now the 2011 doesn't? That's why I started the post. The cost of the car shouldn't be relevant to the BT working correctly.

Really? It doesn't even show up on the handset itself?
Let me ask you a question: Do you have LockInfo installed? I was having the problem of missed calls not showing up on the phone. I ditched LockInfo and everything is back to normal.

Totally what I was referring to with my Lexus comment. Mine was just more asinine. I like to refer to a Lexus as a "Soul-less comfort box".

Also to answer the other guy who asked me what I drove..2007 Infiniti G35S what a surprise. I have full call waiting on mine. But I seem to remember the Infiniti website listing call waiting as "NA" back then too, only mine has always worked. Weird.

No, this is issue is specific to the new truck.

Remember how long it took the iPhone to get MMS? If a 5$ dumbphone could do it, why not a 400$ iPhone?

Big corporate companies make stupid decisions.

Resolution

According to my selling dealer, a discussion today with their Infiniti factory rep yielded the following: Infiniti has a fix coming at the end of October. Apparently, there are numerous complaints.

I'd rather drive a benz than a nissan with infiniti emblems ANY day.
Whatever floats your boat I guess... I love my GL, you love Infiniti. :)

Don't let people's opinions get to you. If BMW made a true 7 passenger SUV I'd had gone that route. The new QX is every bit as luxurious as the GL and even more so IMO. We looked at the GL and liked it, but the lease program was horrible, plus it really isn't big enough for my family. The rear seats are too small. The new QX is far beyond being a rebadged Nissan. The last QX was just that, however, Infiniti completely redesigned the new QX for 2011 and did a fantastic job. Take it easy...

Before this model year, the QX was the only Infiniti that was a re-badged Nissan. The rest of the lineup were independent cars. All use a variation of the rear wheel drive FM platform, while Nissans use the front wheel drive D platform.

Just in case anyone thinks the G is an Altima, or the M is a Maxima. They share no major components. Completely different cars.

Good news on the fix BTW.

not going to buy infiniti - no call waiting issue

Thanks OP for the heads up. I've done searches on this and there does not yet appear to be a fix as far as I can see. This affects all 2010 and 2011 infiniti models with ALL phones as far as I can tell (blackberries, iphones etc). I'm a doctor so I can't afford to miss a call because of Infiniti's fail. I was about to pull the trigger on a G37, but will now probably look at an Acura TL, even though I love the look of the G. It's too bad, I enjoyed the G on the test drive too, but...no call waiting is simply not acceptable.

No problem. Got a call from my Infiniti salesman around 2 weeks ago. A fix allegedly coming this month. We'll see. As for the TL...as a real car nut, the FWD is a dealbreaker for me, like the car otherwise. Maybe consider the AWD version? FYI...We also have a 7 Series BMW. The electronics on BMW trump the Infiniti overall and their entire lineup in RWD. The new iDrive is excellent as is the voice control. The Infiniti voice control is made for old people as it is painfully slow. Just my .02 worth. Good luck in your decision. :)

I read on G37driver forum that nissan issued a bulletin a couple of weeks ago - but asked at an infiniti dealership in Toronto and they know nothing about it. Does anyone have any confirmation?
