meant to say iphone 4 there at the end... oops. It has carried over. I haven't gotten the text message saying i've been converted to 3g, but i'm sure it will come.

So I'm currently using the iphone 4 on the $20 edge unlimited plan and it works fine.

My question is will the option to have the unlimited plan stay on the phone if you decide that you don't need/ use that much data? Im home and on wifi so j don't really need unlimited now but who knows what the future may bring in the two years I will be with them. Some months I might be out and about with a need for more data, and some months, like this I'm using nothing but wifi.

I can confirm that I got unlimited data on the iPhone 2G. I am now putting it into my iphone **fingers crossed** that it works.

The unlimited data plan for the iphone 2G will always work, question is if you can still get that to transfer to an iphone 4 unlimited data plan?

well aren't you automatically grandfathered into unlimited once you get it?

That's what they're saying in this thread. That AT&T caught on and don't allow it any more. They can tell you know what people are doing activating a 2G for a day.

color me stupid, but what is/was the trick? Now that it's been blocked, what were the details? I'm grandfathered in (so I think) for unlimited, so it really doesn't matter to me anyhow...

Well, I'm officially on unlimited 3g data for $30 a month. Trick still works. Got the text at noon today saying they switched me to 3g data. checked online and it's unlimited!
