    Hi all,

Just a quick word of warning. I'm a TechNet subscriber and just downloaded Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 RTM (released today).

I went to Boot Camp it on my MacBook Air 11" Ultimate. Everything went fine during installation and the drivers from Apple installed like normal. I then proceeded to run Windows update which had 9 "important" updates to complete. Upon restart I am now greeted with a looping BSOD. I have tried recovery and safe mode, both also BSOD.

I have had Windows 7 Ultimate x64 running on my MBA for the past few months with no issues, so I can only assume this is an SP1 issue.

I'm currently in the process of re-installing W7-SP1 for another try. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the heads up. I think it goes live to the rest of us this coming Tuesday. Hopefully by then Apple has some updated drivers. Otherwise, I'll hold off updating.

FWIW, SP1 on multiple desktops went off w/out a hitch ... maybe something w/ lappy chipsets?

This may be unrelated to SP1 since I had this when installing W7 on my MBA 2010 13". The solution is to use system restore to go back to the state before the Windows updates. Then run Apple Software Update (under Windows!!) to get the latest Bootcamp drivers. Then you can reinstall the updates.

Probably unrelated to SP1. I had the same problem and it was caused by one of the Windows security updates. I eventually installed them one at a time and was able to install all but the bad one. As I recall, it was the first of the two security updates.
