This is from the El Capitan PB1 bootable USB thread. I posted a reply in that thread here.

Would be really thankful if some security savy person could have a look if this script does anything else than making a bootable usb-install.

It may be all innocent but I got suspicious when a) it seemed to trigger postfix/master for me and b) the script is not viewable and c) the activity here on the forum of the person posting it has only been to promote his scripts for installers.

Hopefully I'm just paranoid, anyway I advise to not run unverified scripts although I stupidly did it myself. Cost me a couple of hours of restoring from backup since I don't trust it to be an ok script.

    Thanks guys/gals, be safe.

I don't think it is malignant.

I haven't used that script for quite a while.

But I have used it before. It worked then and didn't exhibit any malignant behavior.

So I trust the guy who made that script.

I don't suspect that something that was not malignant before to suddenly become malignant.

I agree that you should be careful about installing software you don't know anything about or if it is from an unknown or untrustworthy source.

But this script has been around for quite a while and nobody has reported any malignant behavior.

Ok, thank you for the reply, would be nice to have it confirmed though. Must be a lot of security experts here in the forum :) Hopefully someone will check it.
