I thought I'll post this info, especially for our German users and those, who are looking for M.2 drives to upgrade their older G3/G4 Power Macs.
There was a large number (>50) of these drives sold on German fleebay recently at a very attractive price. I bought four
It turns out, that, although they've been apparently used only for a few hours, they already had a large number of 'flash program failures'. At the beginning, the number of defects was in the 2000 range, but after a few more hours of intensive testing, they have risen to more than 200 000 in my case!
I can imagine that some of the not so honest buyers, after discovering that the drives have problems, will either dump them to secondary market or will return them to seller, who might then sell them to the next victim.
Therefore, be warned and stay away from this model, especially if it was made in 2021 and in China.
The part number of this batch of PM881 is MZNLH128HBHQ-000H1. Judging by the '000H1' at the end it is OEM drive for HP. This means that the buyer will not be able to return the drive to Samsung and, most probably, there will be no firmware updates from Samsung/HP to fix this problem, which, by the way, looks very similar to what plagued Samsung's 870 EVO drives made in 2021.

Samsung 870 EVO - Beware, certain batches prone to failure!
Certain 870 EVO 4TB and 2TB drives are affected by early failures where they develop uncorrectable errors and some data just cannot be read from them anymore. This seems to primarily affect drives produced in January/February 2021. For example, i have three 870 EVO 4TB, only one is affected (so...
