Less than a year ago I purchased another pair of the headsets that came with the original iphone.

Few months ago they stopped working properly and I never did anything about it.

I called apple up the other day and they told me the warranty on the headset was only 30 days.

Can anyone confirm this? I thought you had to have at least 1 year.

Pretty sure the 1-year warranty is for just the iPhone handset, and not for any accessories. I'd trust Apple's word on this one.

I just had mine replaced. The rubber coating on the headphones were coming apart. Took it to an apple store, they took down my serial number from my iphone to verify apple care, and gave me a new one. If your apple care is still valid, give it a try.

thanks for your reply.

the headset is a separate purchase. i had lost mine so i bought a new pair.

i just dont see how 30 days is deemed sufficient. i know they only have 30 day warranty on the iphones the send out in the replacement program.

I thought there was at least 1 year warranty on these kinds of items.

According to Apple's website, all their hardware has a one year warranty.

All Apple hardware products, including clearance and refurbished products, carry a one-year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. You may review a copy of the Limited Warranty on new products, including its limitations and exclusions, before you purchase, by clicking the appropriate link below.

Unless I'm missing something, it should be covered. I'd call back and point out their warranty.
