I couldn't find an answer to this so if anyone knows...

If your phone is replaced by apple, do you have another year warranty from replacement date or from the original date of purchase.

My home button has completely stopped working and I was just wondering if I would still be under warranty, bought original phone on launch day. It was eventually replaced in October.

Service replacements are warrantied for 90 days, or the remainder of the limited warranty/AppleCare, whichever provides longer coverage. From http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/, Warranty & Service Pricing category, "Does Apple warranty cover my iPhone service?"

Same warranty as the day you bought it. No extension of coverage.
