I just got a Macbook pro today from Future Shop, I was wondering if I still get the 1 year warranty on it since I bought it from there, if I do get it do I have to register it?

I'm also wondering if I made the right decision for not buying the Future shop warranty, the guy was trying really hard to talk me into buying it so I didn't get it.

The Apple 1 year warranty applies to all new notebook computers regardless of where they're purchased. There's no harm in registering, so you might as well. It makes it easier for Apple to help you if you're in their system should you need support.

I'm not familiar with Future Shop or their warranties, but unless it covers something Applecare doesn't (accidental damage, for example) it probably isn't worth it. Extended warranties and care plans are among the biggest cash cows for retailers since most people will never need to use them anyway -- that's why your salesman was trying to push it on you.

I can still add apple care is that correct? Is there any difference getting applecare when I first got my laptop or getting it in 5-9 months?

You can still add Apple Care.
And there is no difference getting it on the first day of the purchase of your Mac or on the 300th day, but make sure you buy the Apple Care Protection Plan in time, as it takes a while to register, so better not buy it on the 365th day.

Ah, I just got the difference, looking at the Apple Care page Apple kindly offered to publish.
