My card was charged $100 for the "free" gift card...what is up with that?
I had the same issue with my initial order. I ended up removing the student gift card from my cart, placed the order, and called Apple the next day. Told them about the issue and about 12 hours later the card was added to my order, free of charge.
So I'd have to cancel my order for this to be resolved?
Probably an error in their point of sale system. Just call them and they'll likely fix it for you.
I wouldn't cancel it. Call them up and they will surely be able to resolve it for you.
