No I just think that apple is getting better with preparing for releases. Preorders most likely accounted for the majority of the sales. My FedEx guy chuckled and said "I hope you and everyone else in this town enjoys their new iPad".

Why wait in line and chance not getting an iPad when apple will ship one to your door for free on launch day? Needless to say, I think apple did just fine.

LOL, the woman that delivers FedEx to my work place pretty much knew it was me when she was bringing the new iPad in. She has delivered my previous two iPad 2s, three Apple TVs, and my Apple Airport Extreme. She said that luckily she didn't get hit hard with iPad deliveries this year for the 16th but wasn't sure if any more were coming in over the weekend.

The other thing to keep in mind is that a lot of people are happy with their ipad 2s so they may not feel the need for an upgrade. My wife has a 16 GB wifi only iPad 2 and loves it. Doesn't want an upgrade. I only upgraded because I wanted a LTE model since my iPad 2 32GB was wifi only. Otherwise I would have probably stuck with the ipad 2 until next year to see what the next ipad will have. Now I might skip next year and wait until 2014 to get another one. Depends on what is upgraded next year. I would like Siri to be on the iPad 3 with a software update but that will probably not happen. Will have to live with Dictation only I guess.

I went to the apple store in the mall yesterday (sunday) and I had to wait in line for an hour to get a 4S. Apple has a Steady flow coming into their store. Not just for iPad 3 sales, but everything. I think thats the whole goal for a retail store right? ;)

When you buy a Apple product from the shop you aren't browsing boxes are you, you are hands on with the product. Only when you buy the item do you see the box and have it in your hands.

Plain boxes are fine for Apples way!
