We've always, ALWAYS gotten a shipping confirmation email from Apple when ordering a new phone. And ever since getting on the AUP, we've always received a separate delivery of the empty box to ship the old phone back to Apple before receiving the new phone.

Today, my wife's new 11 Pro showed up unannounced, several days early. No shipping email. No return box for the old phone.

I'm half expecting another one to come by mistake. Anyone else experience this?

Yeah I’m not doing that.

Also just discovered we never got a purchase confirmation. But we did get the expected credit check.

if so keep them both. Their mistake

Bad advice. FYI, don’t think that Apple can’t charge you later on for something when they realize that that a second phone was sent, especially once it actually gets activated. If the phone is not in their device purchase history, don’t you think that wouldn't go un noticed in terms of warranty/AppleCare, etc.?
