There seems to be two camps. I’m interested how many people think it was a success/disaster. So, what’s your take? Success or disaster? Please vote and please comment for details. This is about 15 Pro (Max), not regulars, because obviously all alledged problems reported were about Pro line.

MacRumors + Reddit + randos= disaster.

Rest of the world= success.

I was really looking forward to getting a 15PM in a few months. But because of all the issues, I’ve shelved that plan. No new iPhone for me this year.
So from Apple’s perspective, it’s a lost sale
That is a shame you let people dictate what you buy. I received my 15 PM and it’s just fine. It’s a mass produced item and defects happen. It’s not widespread. Many many people are enjoying them.

No middle ground at all? Either black or white? Are we judging Apple based on one event? What about all those who just didn't say anything because they're fine with their device? How are you factoring them in? Are they actually voting here? All of them?

Technically the release of the iPhone 13 series could be classed as a 'disaster'. There were a lot of reported problems here. Yet the device was a success overall.

Exactly. All the people whining about the 14PM battery didn’t deter me from getting a 14PM about four months before the 15 release. I’m still abundantly pleased with my choice.

Well I meant it more like generally. Obviously there is no perfect releases there is always something. On the other hand there is no complete disaster like most of the phones work just fine. The poll is more about how people perceived it. I guess there could be some option in between. But then again this is not very scientific so let’s just go with this :)

OK. A 'not very scientific' poll based on my perception and not reality.

So, here's the deal. I voted 'Disaster'. Based solely what I see here on MacRumors and not anything outside of this forum then the launch of the iPhone 15 series was disastrous and Apple should be very worried.

Based on facts…my perception and therefore my opinion/vote is wrong. But I'll leave it at 'Disaster' because it doesn't matter.

We’ll know in 25 days on Apple’s next earnings report. Probably a success.
of course that will be a success as it was only available for like 2 weeks, the real important number is when Apple releases Q4'23 results eo Jan'24

But that doesn't matter. ;)

OP's poll is solely based on your perception.
the "perception" is of course "disaster" as "as usual" there are more negative than positive reports.
And since neither MR nor Reddit are representative of the Apple user community - this "poll" is biased.

and "as usual", the ones who complain the loudest will calm down, enjoy their new iPhone and be first in line to get next years model to then start the cycle again ...

Well, all I can say is that won't be me. My current phone is the 11 Pro Max and short of anything unforseen, I'm not upgrading this year.

Too bad your unscientific poll cannot exclude non-buyers.

iPhone 4 - Antennagate
iPhone 5 - Slate colour prone to scratching / chipping
iPhone 6 - Bendgate
iPhone 7 - All the fall out from the headphone jack removal and major durability concerns over the jet black finish
iPhone X - screen becomes unresponsive in cold temps
iPhone 13 - The phone itself was fine but iOS 15 was riddled with bugs, including a Messages bug that caused saved photos to be deleted
iPhone 14 Pro - vibrating / shaking camera modules

I'm sure there's more, but I think it goes to show how short people's memory is whenever a new iPhone comes out with post-launch teething issues.

People say Apple dropped the ball, as though this is the first iPhone that's ever had issues - a sorry indictment of Apple's falling quality standards.

If we were to write off every iPhone release as being a disaster due to post-launch issues, then surely that would include the iPhones listed above (which all turned out to be very successful)?

Weird, this was you on Thursday:

I’m using a 6+ right now and I still have no plans to get an iPhone 15 model. Why? They all have flickering OLED screens

Anything else you'd like to manufacture for likes?
