Love my 15 PM. It is not earth shattering but after many new iPhones, I did not expect it to be. The 5X camera is great for portraits and is my favorite feature.

OK. A 'not very scientific' poll based on my perception and not reality.

So, here's the deal. I voted 'Disaster'. Based solely what I see here on MacRumors and not anything outside of this forum then the launch of the iPhone 15 series was disastrous and Apple should be very worried.

Based on facts…my perception and therefore my opinion/vote is wrong. But I'll leave it at 'Disaster' because it doesn't matter.
Why don’t you make a better poll then instead of complaining about it? Come on, let’s see it.

Why? All that needs to be done is the addition of a middle option to the current poll in this thread. Just edit the poll.

It seems to me you want people's opinion, but only from one side or the other. The addition of a middle ground is an option I suspect most would select because really, this is just another bog-standard, average Apple iPhone launch.

But where's the fun in a discussion like that?

I got my 15 PM on launch day, and noticed that the phone got unusually warm during calls. Fixed with the recent update.

It was the smoothest phone to phone transfer I’ve ever had, even my Watch and eSIMs transferred without any issues, that’s a first.

For me a success launch! I’m very happy with the 15 PM.

IMO it was a huge success, given how fast the shipping times slipped. There'll always be some problems but that's probably a tiny percentage...

How do you quantify success or failure? The number of units sold? The amount of product returns? The objective improvements seen on the specs sheet?

To me, in isolation, the 15 Pro Max is the first iPhone in the Pro lineup that actually is a prosumer device. It is a major success based on how fast stocks deplete in a lot of stores worldwide.

Honestly I didn’t know I can edit a poll lol 🤓

Please consider changing your vote if the new option more accurately reflects your thoughts on this matter.

if my new phone fixes my horrible cellular reception issues I would no doubt change my vote

There seems to be two camps. I’m interested how many people think it was a success/disaster. So, what’s your take? Success or disaster? Please vote and please comment for details. This is about 15 Pro (Max), not regulars, because obviously all alledged problems reported were about Pro line.
Two iPhone Pro’s here, zero problems. In fact, the 15 pro seems to run cooler than the 14 pro.

I think most people don’t really realize how many of these devices are being sold. Even if the issues are on way below 1% of devices, it will be a lot of people.

I don’t think it’s a “disaster,” but definitely a little rocky. I think Apple will learn from the feedback and take it into consideration for the next model.

Something is fishy, the only pro max you can get here from retailers now or overnight delivery is the blue 512GB. AU.
Why is apple only giving them that model?

I was really looking forward to getting a 15PM in a few months. But because of all the issues, I’ve shelved that plan. No new iPhone for me this year.
So from Apple’s perspective, it’s a lost sale
You do realize that the overwhelming majority of buyers have had zero issues. Regardless of what the company or product is, there will always be a small subset of failures. It’s just a given.

The small number of users that have issues are of course the loudest people in the room. You’re mistaking that for the majority.

For myself its a disaster in the sense, that the Apple iPhone’s design is aging, there is room for change not only in design, but in innovation. Hopefully next years iPhones will bring something new to the table not just buttons and gimmicks.

What are you expecting exactly? Physics has limitations.

For me, in between leaning towards success. Though the overheating issues should have been sorted out first before release
