Yes, i know it's not out now. I'm just trying to explain why i asked such questions and that TC25/~Ks383~ doesn't have to be a butthole.

So let me get this straight.

1. You ask a question (which you had due to your reading comprehension error).
2. I answer your question.
3. I somehow (for no justifiable reason by the way) get called a butthole.

So if you misunderstand what is written and someone corrects your misunderstanding (not in a mean or insulting way BTW) then you feel justified to stoop to name calling (which is against MR rules)? Wow, some people are just beyond help.

Just shut up already. The both of you. You both need to go into time out.

What for pray tell? I said nothing insulting or derogatory to anyone. I was only trying to help someone and got insulted for no reason, so I called the person out on it. You need to mind your own business. Anyway, I am done with this back and forth and was done with it until you butted in. You should take your own advice by the way.

If you have issues with someone, message them.

Still not working

Well it was updated thru cydia this morning and now I just get an error message saying the usb device requires too much power, press the ok and that is all I get.

Using three different thumb drives (different manufacturers).
Using one SD card.

I get no error from a self powered external drive, just can't see anything with this one.

The camera adaptor is not an apple one, it is a third party one that has USB and an SD card reader in it.

Help?

Are you sure this was working before you Jailbroke and updated?
I believe that in a recent updated Apple changed the CCK and rendered some USB drives unusable because of the power amount they required.
It might not be a fault of the Jailbreak...

Apple reduced the power draw of the cck from 100ma to 20ma on iOS 4.2 rendering many devices useless. Comex replied to one of his followers that someone named br0x is working on increasing the power output back to 100ma.

Yup. Cydia gave me an update in the changes tab of Cydia. Installed and rebooted. Works great.

For those that are having the issue with the popup about power consumption - in a previous firmware release, Apple changed the requirements with the embedded code about what amount of output power consumption would be applicable.

Makes sense now, I'll just wait a little bit longer and see if it is back to 100ma.. Mine is pretty useless at the moment...

My question , I don't have a CCK yet but want to buy one.
On a non-JB device it is rather useless as it supports pictures only.

But now I've jailbroken my iPad 2 and this moring Cydia prompted for an update which I installed.

Q1: Is that the CCK fix ?
Q2: When I connect a CCK, will it muont to a folder e.g. /Volumes , /media or whatever and can I transfer files to the SD card connected as if it were connected to a Linux of Mac ?

Who said so?? U dont have to wait ... Buy an usb hub with an external power supply will do the trick...

Dont know where you guys are seeing an update through Cydia, no prompt when opened and nothing in changes

Lugging around an external power supply for the USB hub is quite the hassle. Most of us would rather wait. :)

Just did a test with the camera and it works fine, so there is just the fix to increase the power and then I can use some of these thumb drives with it. I have ordered a powered hub for it but the fix will probably be done quickly and I will use it with PC then :)

This not JUST JB devices issue, i got an untouched one, and none of the card readers or usb conn works anymore after updating firmware, those dam suckers in Calif

Mine worked just fine before jailbreaking, stopped working after the jailbreak, and now works again after the fix is applied. Are you sure you are not just using a device that draws too much power (see quote below).

Yes we hope this will be fixed since apple reduced the current output with a sense of humor...
