Washer size for CPU upgrade (2009)

Hi,

In preparation for my update.. what size of washers do I require to prevent the cooling block from crushing my CPU?

I know it should be 1.8~2mm thick.. but does not state M3 or M4, or M5....

What does not state? I have seen it specified on several online guides.

managed to upgrade without them.. and all running fine now

Measure the difference between the old processors and the new with a micrometer. Mine was 2.2 mm
