I generally don’t wear it while taking shower because I don’t like the feeling of bondage in shower. But for everything else I keep the watch on. Washing dishes in particular, doesn’t really bother me since water doesn’t really reach my wrist most of the times. When I’m on holiday, however, and if I’m in a pool or something, I just keep wearing it regardless.
Oh the things one could say about bondage in the shower!! 🤣😂🤣

The first gen Watch is not water resistant at all and is infamous for the bottom popping off due to poor sealing and adhesive used.
The first gen watch is pretty water resistant. I wore it in the ocean, dunked it into a bucketful of dirty water when I was washing a rug, and it's still working fine. My partner uses it when he feels like he needs a watch, otherwise it's on the charger acting as a nightstand clock. My mom is still using hers daily.

You're right there were several well-publicized incidents of the bottom popping off the watch, but apart from that, most first gen watches worked perfectly fine, and were water resilient as advertised.

I don't generally shower or do a lot of high-chlorine or salt water use, but otherwise I don't give it any thought at all. I HAVE showered with it when I forget and it's fine as others have mentioned.
