wasn't youtube 3g quality supposed to improve on 3.0?

i thought the quality on youtube videos on the iphone were supposed to improve based on signal strength while on 3g networks....did this not happen or what? thanks!

It probably depends on network speeds. It's hard to tell if it's working without your network speed.

When I was on vacation in southern California this year (on 2.2.1, not 3.0), watching YouTube videos on the 3G network seemed identical to watching them over WiFi. After I had arrived home, this strange occurrence kept happening for a few more days but then went back to crappy, bloated, EDGE quality video. No idea what happened or how the videos got to be high quality in the first place.
