I just updated my series 3 watch with cellular and gps to 4.2 and the battery drains within a couple of hours. I never had it go below 50% before the update. What can I do to fix this problem. I can't even do anything with my watch now -- the battery drains too fast!!! Very frustrated!!

Try doing a hard reset (hold both buttons at the same time until the watch starts to shut off). See how it goes after the watch restarts. If that doesn't work the next thing to try is re-pairing. I've had this problem and fixed it by these steps.

Try the reset, but give it a couple of days before unpair and repair. It might just be syncing and indexing a lot of data.

Thanks sean000 -- I did the reset last night and so we will see how it goes today!!! I hope I don't have to do the unpair/repair but I will definitely wait several days!!! :)

It hasn’t happened with every update, but I have had a couple of issues like yours before. One was clearly the update because battery life returned to normal after a couple of days. Another happened in between updates. It was an app running amok. I temporarily disabled some third party apps and things improved. After some app updates I renabled them and had no problems.

Good luck!

you can restore from a backup.
just make sure you backup before you un-pair (it may do it automatically)

so you don't really loose anything, except for the hour or so that it's restoring.
