I'm hoping the next watch will alert me to when the lawn needs mowing and the garden needs water. Oh, and I wish it would alert me to when the beans need picking!

I believe I've had series 2, 4, and 6. I can't remember exactly. I think I will be waiting for the watch that measures blood pressure before I upgrade again.

I'm still wearing my 12-year-old Luminox stainless steel watch and band. Never needs recharging, only tells the time and date, waterproof to submarine depths. I have the battery and seal replaced every two years for $35, and five years ago, I sent it out for a professional internal cleaning. I keep looking at the Apple Watch and trying to justify buying one but so far the compelling reason hasn't occurred to me.

If all you need is time and date then no need for AW. Different use case for a smart watch.

Apple Watch 10 will FaceTime the doctor if the levels are off. These features as good as they sound, are just bonus. My AW3 already has everything I need from a watch. Now I am just in a lookout for a watch with 3 day battery life (With Always on display)

OK, but what are some compelling reasons? I mean, aside from the gimmickry?
I use it primarily as a fitness tracker (steps, recording rides and runs) and to set the alarm. Phone notifications are very useful too. Not having to keep checking the phone saves a lot of time. I understand a lot of people don't need fitness trackers and are quite disciplined with their phone usage. But for those like me who get distracted easily, it is not a gimmick

I went from S0 to S2 (for GPS) to S3 (for cellular) and now to S5 (for Always On). S8 is my target update at the moment because S5 is still serving me well.
Apple hardware is so good now I have no need to update regularly. My iPhone X is still doing it job. I'm eyeing miniLED iPad though. Still deciding about it.
