As I understand it there are certain features of the Apple Watch that can only be used with other AW owners. No-one I know is planning on getting one, which means I'm going to be Billy No Mates :(

Anyone want to be my Watch Buddy (TM) ?

Serial killers need not apply.

ill be your watch buddy!! one of my concerns about getting one is i won't know anyone else with one, to share my doodles with LOL!!!

I'm making my husband wear one. And my eldest son. Am considering getting a sport for my daughter. Middle kid can afford to buy his own, and he's considering it.

Why do these kids think I had them if not to make future Watch Buddies (TM) out of them?

Honestly, that was my first thought when I saw this thread. Not "Ooo, I want a watch buddy" but "Ooo, I want to find a watch ladyfriend" haha.

But yeah, it reminds me of when I got the iPhone 4. "I CAN FACETIME NOW, I LIVE IN THE FUTURE!!! ..... wait... does anyone else have an iPhone 4??" *sits quietly in the corner

Haha, your kids must love you! You get a watch! and YOU get a watch!! and YOU.... wait, you can afford one. As you were. :p

If I get one I might buy an extra one that I just "loan" out to my ladyfriend of the time. Women love getting old ex's hand-me-down :apple:watches, right?? right???.....

I'm mostly modelling swimwear and lingerie nowadays. I found all the catwalk stuff too tiring -- all that international travel and so on. Plus it was really hard to meet guys. All I really want to is to give a man whatever he wants with no commitment whatsoever on his part.

I've given up hoping that I'll find what I'm looking for. Hence my cri de coeur for a Watch Buddy.

LOL! Yeah. Just make sure you get a metal band. No lingering perfume smell.

(And I'm not Oprah, Angus ;))

I wait to see which kids go for it before I offer to help pay. I might just buy one for the 14yo, but she's very good with higher-priced electronics and she never gets as much cash from the Chinese grandparents as her older brothers.
 
No lie, I would love to find a woman who loves(or just likes) Apple products and will have  Watch. But if not,oh well. At least I'll have it.

My husband was a bit anti-Apple when we met. He's changed his mind. And he's getting an Apple Watch for our anniversary at the end of the month. ;)

I would do the same except I have to get him off his 4s phone first.

THIS is why I like that I have to raise my arm to get the Apple Watch to light the display. With the Pebble instantly displaying everything an occasional embarrassing spam message or very private text message from a friend could have been seen by others (if they could read the little display fast enough).

I have not seen yet whether pictures texted by friends will automatically show (the Pebble does not show pictures) and am thankful that if they DO I can dismiss by putting my hand over the watch for 3 seconds.

BTW: Most of my bad spam no longer appears on the Pebble now that I discovered we can tell the iPhone which email accounts to display notifications for. Now only the two emails I care about get displayed.

Awwww. My family always gave New Year money to me and my cousins based on our ages. Older kids got more, but since I was one of the older kids, I got more than my younger male cousin. :)

I was afraid I was going solo with the Apple watch, but I think I've managed to convince my partner to get one too. In any case, I'm ordering two, because I'm not sure which size I want, so I'm making my partner wear whichever one I don't use, and hope he gets addicted to it. :D
 
This has been bumming me out as well. My significant other doesn't want the watch. I might have a couple of Apple geek friends getting it, but probably I'll just have no one to send badly drawn smiley faces to.
