as a previous lazy happy user of my apple watch, ive recently started going to the gym and im finding that the watch is very unintuitive and annoying.

I am far too tired at 7am and life is too short for me at every machine I go to use, open the app, find the workout for that and select it, then when I am finished, stop it.

its not like the watch cant accurately figure out what I am doing, it is never ever wrong in its guess, am I doing an elliptical machine, am I doing rowing, am I on a treadmill, so why cant i set it just to assume and go for it rather than beep and ask me whether I have started or stopped a certain exercise. at the end then it could let me review and change or delete any inaccurate activities.

or have I missed something and it will do this?

The ones you use the most go to the top of the list so you don't have to hunt for them. I have the workout complication on the watch face and just tap that then one swipe to get to the bit of equipment and you're off. It takes 5 seconds.

If you're ending a workout with one machine and starting one with another machine right away, instead of ending your first workout by tapping the red 'X', tap the green '+' instead. That will end your previous workout and start a new one in one step. Not exactly what you're looking for, but it does streamline things a little.

Depends on the gym... gym tech machines sync to the watch with GymKit. Automatically telling the watch what machine you’re on and what you’re doing. But if you go to the cheaper gyms you won’t have that capability

Good luck finding any gym in smaller European towns with that equipment.

Excellent point!
