Watch Notifications Taking Too Long to Display After Wrist Raise

Running Watch OS 8 on a Series 5. Previously, if I got a notification I would be able to see the contents of the message shortly after raising my wrist. Now, the preview notification seems to hang for 5+ seconds before the watch switches to the full notification. Anyone else getting this?

works the same as before for me, I'd try reboot on both watch and phone

This is happening to me also On s5 with watchOS 8.

I’m also experiencing this on Watch OS8 S6.
I thought it would be the setting in my screenshot but I double checked and it was already off :/

Clicked that button on and off, rebooted and it’s back working.

I got a S7 yesterday and I decided to set it up as a new watch rather than a restore. All good so far.
