Has anyone seen a hit in battery life after updating to the official (non-beta) 4.2?
I know there was a problem with the initial update to os 4 that was fixable by restoring the watch, but I wonder if there is something else going on?

My S0 watch battery life has been bad since Watch OS 4. With OS 4.2 it's even worse. Took it off the charger this morning at 7:30, 100%. At 1:15 it was at 57%

Was planning on doing this update tonight on my S3 LTE. I’m curious if this is isolated since this is the first I’ve seen of battery drain on 4.2. I may wait now.

S3 non LTE. Updated to 4.2 last night. Put the watch on the charger last night and put it on my wrist this morning around 8am. It’s nearly 3:30pm now and I’m at 97% battery.

S2 here, while 4.2 seems to have fixed the performance issues I've been having I can confirm that the battery life on 4.2 has been pretty bad thus far. I'm going to do a reboot tonight and see if its better tomorrow.

have you tried un-pairing and re-pairing the watch.
i've had that clear up rapid battery drain.

but 40% in about 6 hours isn't that horrible, although not the best either

it's about what i was getting on OS3 with my S0
but that was without too much usage or doing a workout.

My series 3 GPS only version has been fine on watchOS 4.2. I do not notice much difference since the upgrade. It was off the charger at 100% about 12:30AM last night (when it is one updating to 4.2), and it is 85% now at 5:48PM. I used it to track a 30 minutes swimming.

S3 LTE and haven’t noticed any appreciable battery difference since updating to 4.2 yesterday. 4.2 seems pretty stable so far.

Series 0 (first-generation) doing OK on Watch OS 4.2, which I just updated to yesterday, and my new Series 3 is doing even better. I know that the older watch will require visits to the charger more frequently than the newer one, and that's fine with me.

S3 LTE experiencing a drain problem here. Had to charge 6 hours earlier then normal last night. Not using LTE.

Those with bad battery life:

Some have suggested that battery life after a fresh install is often bad. Wait a day or so, and see if it improves. Mine did. I also turned watch off and back on. (Not sure if that was necessary.)

Then please report back here if waiting for install to "settle in" made a difference.

Sorry - I should have mentioned I have S3 LTE (not connected to lte network).
I also have WiFi turned off on my watch. It seems to help quite a bit.I don't need WiFi on on my watch at all for my uses and if I ever do, I can turn it on.

Also, since I'm not using LTE, I have that turned off as well. I can turn that on if I need it. I feel both of these settings turned off helps tremendously.

AW3 GPS. I used to have a 1-3% battery drain overnight pre 4.2. Now it is a bit worse but not a TON worse (about 8+%). But I'll gladly take that over the huge increase in speed I'm getting in 4.2.

Series 2 here. I upgraded to 4.2 last night & so far today, battery life has been amazing. I put it on about 8 am. It’ snow noon & I still have 100% battery life, which is better than I normally have at this point. I didn’t get a chance to run this morning, but I’m hoping it is more efficient during workouts as well.
