I have an Apple Watch Series 2, and since updating to OS4,the battery has taken a hit.

I used to get two days out of it and still end the day with 30-40% battery left. Since the update my watch will not last 2 days, and usually goes into power reserve mode before the end of the second day.

My battery is still rough after un-pairing and pairing my watch, although it is better. I'm giving the turning off location data thing. I'm hoping my weather data doesn't get messed up.

I did a hard reset of both my SS0 watch and my iPhone 7 plus. This had little to no effect on my terrible battery life. I then tried unpairing and repairing. That helped quite a bit - at least I think t did. I did that on Saturday and then Sunday I tracked my battery usage. It was just a normal day and the only workout I did was mowing my lawn. I noticed that battery usage became more progressive as the day went on. Look at my stats- almost no drain for the 1st 3 hours and then progressively worse after that.

Time - battery percent left
07:15 100
09:25 99
10:15 96
11:46 86
12:17 81
13:45 71
14:30 66
15:41 60
17:52 52
18:34 48
20:33 33

Still, I was much happier to have 33% left at 8:30 PM at which time the watch returned to the charger.

I've noticed a similar pattern, although today seems to be more excessive than usual. It'll make it through the day, but I know it'll be less than the 30 to 40% I'm used to at the end of the day.

I turned off location services on my Apple Watch faces and did a hard reset for good measures. Put the watch on at 7:30 am and here it is a little after 11 am and I'm down to 84%. Not doing much of anything with it since I'm at work. At this rate, I won't make the day. I do listen to music on my phone and when I look at my watch, it shows the music controls. Can't figure a way to shut this feature off and I'm wondering if that is killing my battery.

That's in the Watch app - General --> Wake Screen --> Auto-launch Audio Apps. It did not make any kind of difference in my battery life though. I think this will be sorted out in an update though. There's no way I'm upgrading this watch to a new model yet.

After updating my Series 1 sport I noticed the battery life took a hit as well. I typically put it on around 6:30AM and will have around 60% battery life left when getting ready for bed around 10:30PM.

The first couple of days I noticed with normal usage the battery life would get down into the 30% range. That said, as of yesterday, I started the day a little later than normal (7:45AM) and ended my day after 11PM and my watch still had almost 80% life left.

I'm not sure if this due to certain app's getting completely updated or what but so far today, I put the watch on around 6:45AM CST and it's now 10:30AM CST and it's still sitting at 100%.

It is obviously getting better as the OS4 update has had some time to "settle in".

I too have the S0 and am running out of power during the day, without any workouts and raise to wake set to off. I really wish I could go back to watchOS 3. Until I updated to 4 I hardly ever had a problem making it through the day.. Hope they fix this soon (and yes, feedback has been left on the apple site as well)

hey mgroot has there been an update on the apple site? my series 0 is consistently running out of power ever since wos4. today it went from 100% at 9:30am to 4pm without me using it besides for time and a few text message notifications. it’s pretty ridiculous.

My Series 2 typically ends the day on 48% with watchOS 4, whereas same usage it usually ended at about 61% with watchOS 3.

My usage is generally 16 hour days, 2x workouts totalling 70 minutes, raise to wake on, and using the Now Playing screen a lot.

I charge every night so it's not an issue. The only way it could last me 2 days if I skipped the workouts though.

I would hope point updates of 4 will improve battery life marginally.

I'm seeing less available battery on my S0 after the update. Im also not seeing much benefits to the watchOS4. I'm not at the point i'm regretting the upgrade, but its not doing much for me either.

I recently upgraded from a Series 0 to a Series 3 with Cellular. Before getting the series 3 I had upgraded the series 0 to OS4 and had experienced no issues with it, but at that time I was also still using an iPhone 7. On Friday (9-22-17) I received the Series 3 and upgraded to the iPhone 8 Plus. The first full day using the Series 3 (Saturday) it went from 100% at 4:25am to 5% at 4:30pm. I reset both the iPhone 8 and the Watch Friday Night and on the second full day saw a much better result with the watch being at 100% at 4:25am and at 4:30pm it was at 40%. Sunday saw an even better result, again at 4:25am 100% and at 4:30pm it was at 68%. All three days saw the watch being used just as normal as any other day.

So, I'm pretty sure this was brought up in another post but I can't seem to find it.... is anyone else no longer seeing the "charging ring" when you place your watch on the charger?

My S1 Sport is working very well with solid battery life but I have noticed that every night when I place the watch on the charger, it only shows the "green bolt" where the lock icon is for about 5 seconds and then nothing. Almost like it's not charging at all.

Of course it gets a full charge but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this as well.

No, there hasn't been a new version released yet. That'll take some time

I have changed the setting in the health app (click on profile and set wheelchair to no) and that a) brought back the stand notifications and b) battery life seems to be much better after that. Though I have no idea if changing that setting and the battery life improving are connected or not

My experience echoes yours on my Series 2 Sport. I think it may have been a change in watchOS 4. I certainly don't like it!

So, last night I wound up resetting my iPhone 7 to factory due to some glitches with iOS11 update. I was hoping a fresh install would fix the bugs. In the process, I also had to unpair and also reset my Series 0. Today, my battery life is noticeably better. Took the watch off the charger at 7:30 am and at 2:45 pm, I'm at 76%. Again, this is with minimal watch activity. Yesterday I had to give my watch a boost charge at lunchtime in order to ensure I'd make it through the day. And even by doing that, I barely made it to 11 pm last night. Hoping ios 11.01 patch doesn't undo my forward progress.

So yesterday my battery life was awesome. I ended the day with almost 80% life (around 10:30PM)

Today, I put the watch on around 6:30AM CST (about normal for me) and as of right now (3:46PM CST) I am sitting at 79% and I can't say I have used it any more than yesterday.

No real rhyme or reason behind the swing in percentage. I believe I am going to update my 7 + tonight to the 11.0.1 and unpair the AW to see if that helps at all.

Anyone seeing a swing like this?
