Hi:
I’m seeing issues in the new DP Beta that the Music app on Apple Watch doesn’t connect to the music library on iPhone. Only options for music is for what is stored on the Watch itself. Now Playing also only works if you start music on the phone first. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Yeah I have the same issue. Also a bit annoying that only ‘Now Playing’ is available as a complication and not ‘Music’. Hopefully that will change.

Yes. I was having some major issues with the music and a few others. So I started from scratch on the DP1 and WatchOS 4 installs and now things are much smoother. So you may want to try another install.

Same here. I think once you sync music to the watch it shuts down that functionality. Must be a bug.

I removed music from watch, rebooted both, and at least now playing functionality came back (to control phone). But music stayed empty. boo

I'm having this problem with iOS 11 and watch OS 3... so it may not be (exclusively) the watch software.

Thanks to everyone being vigilant and updating that this issue remains in every beta to this point - I just can't imagine that this will remain in final release, as I would expect many people use their Apple Watch as a music controller, and don't only want to store music it on it...

SOMEONE PLEASE start a petition on change.org so we can show Apple they cant just remove features from PAYING customers

I send my Apple Watch SS series 2 to Apple Support for downgrade watchOS version;)

Can I just clarify what this means, because I’m a bit unclear.

There is still a Music app on the Watch, but it can only directly control music that is actually on the Watch?

However, you can start music playing in the Music app on your phone, and then you can control it in ‘Now Playing? But the ‘Now Playing’ complication that was in earlier betas has disappeared?

Is there still a Music complication?

So basically, you cannot start something playing on your phone using your watch as a remote any more?

I don't think this is true.
AFAIU, what is missing is the source on Watch, meaning if you want to use your watch to play Music you can't. You can only play what's in the watch.

But if you start your music on the phone, which is the way I play my music everyday, it will be the same like before. You will be able to control it on Now Playing, going to the control through Music complication, just like before. Nothing changes this way.
At least this is what I understand from the informations provided.
