I just updated to the latest iPadOS 18.2 Beta, and after the update, my Magic Keyboard is working, but NOT the trackpad.

I have a 13" M4 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro M4, and the trackpad is simply not working anymore. I tried connecting to an Apple Trackpad, but it also fails to function correctly even when connected to BT.

And yes, I have restarted the iPad several times.

Currently on iPadOS 18.2… beta 2, are you referring to a standalone Magic Trackpad 2?

Because I’m using the Magic Keyboard on 13” M4 and I have no problem with the trackpad, everything is functional correctly.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. The trackpad with my M4 iPad Pro 11” with Magic Keyboard is working fine on Beta 2. Maybe try connecting a Bluetooth mouse and seeing if you have the same problem?

Hmmm - I am having the Trackpad problem using the Magic Keyboard (for iPad Pro M4) as well as connecting a standalone Magic Trackpad 2.

What could I possibly check, or reset, to get Trackpad functionality back?

I wonder if someone with a 13” M4 iPad Pro and a Magic Keyboard can confirm if the Trackpad functionality is affected by iPadOS 18.2 B2?

11” M4 iPad Pro with magic keyboard here. Trackpad does not work after upgrading to 18.2 PB. On the flip side, cmd+space and cmd+tab are more reliable when connected to external monitor. Something’s got to give ;)

I eventually did a Reset All Settings, and lo and behold, the Trackpad now works fine.

In almost 10 years using keyboards with my iPad Pros, I have never had to do that… something fishy about this update 🤔

Reactions: maciek.
I have the 11’ M4 and suddenly my trackpad also stopped working (only on the MK, but other brands such as my logitech case were fine). So I thought it was a hardware issue and was about to return it when I found this post. I never made the connection to the Beta because I didn’t use the MK for a while. I just updated to the latest Beta and the trackpad works again. So if anyone had the same problem and sees this - updating helped solve the problem.

On newest beta with 12.9 M2 and apple case with keyboard and newest trackpad built in works just fine.

It worked fine for me as well, after I did a Reset All Settings…
